Wilmington Montessori School

WMS is an amazing school that is focused on child led learning. Each student has personalized learning curriculum to complete independently and also participates in group work. The teachers and staff are all excellent and focused on the students.

Students are introduced to many different subjects and cultures throughout the year with a focus on acceptance and understanding. Field trips to local theaters and nature reserves are a regular occurrence and the students love the opportunities to learn in a non traditional setting.

The children are taught everything they need to know in order to excel. The lessons are tailored to their individual abilities and learning styles leading to each child feeling valued and capable.

WMS is an incredible school with teachers and administrators that put the student first.

This wonderful school nurtured my daughter from 2-6 years old. It was a magical experience for my entire family. The warmth and sense of community is something I will never forget. I miss this place.

My boys are both enjoying their second year at WMS this year - the younger in the toddler program, and the older in the pre-primary classes. Next year he will attend for Kindergarten as well. We so deeply love WMS- it has been one of our proudest parenting achievements being able to send the boys there and feel so confident about the education they receive and the loving and open atmosphere. It’s our great great joy!  The faculty and administrators care deeply, and take the time to get to know each student fully. The celebrate with their successes in such a personal, warm, and caring way. Further the educator is incomparable. Our boys are learning tons each day, and more than the information - they're learning to be citizens, learning to be curious, and learning to be kind. WMS is worth every penny. We couldn't be prouder to be a WMS family.

My four kids have all thrived at Wilmington Montessori School and even better, my three who have already graduated have continued to thrive in their next school experiences.  Not only was their academic preparation excellent, but each has a fundamental confidence in themselves, a self-motivated work ethic, and a deep desire to help make the world a better place.  And my husband and I felt very supported as involved parents, and from our kids’ teachers we learned a lot about parenting and helping our kids be balanced and yet stretch themselves toward their highest potential.  Thank you Wilmington Montessori School for giving our kids a beautiful childhood.

If there was a way to give more than 5 stars I absolutely would. As a stay at home mom it was very difficult to start the search for schools for my daughter. As soon as we stepped into WMS we felt at home. We visited many other schools in the area and we found we compared every single one to WMS. We have never looked back. WMS is not just a school it&#39;s a community. I&#39;ve never felt so welcomed anywhere in my life. Every parent, student, teacher, and faculty member has always been extremely nice to us. Most importantly they care for my girl as I would for her myself. They supply her with a place she feels safe, welcomed, and cared for. Because of this she has learned so much, gained so much confidence, and my shy girl has become such a social butterfly. There is nothing better than to hear the excitement in her voice when she shares her dat with us. Each of her teachers have gone above and beyond for her. When she first started and was nervous to interact with her peers her teachers would help &#34;break the ice&#34; with group play on the playground. When she would fight her naps they would rub her back until she falls asleep. When she has shown interest in learning more they have gone out to being in more materials on a subject they know she would love to learn about. When she&#39;s had days of not wanting to leave my side they have given her hugs and consoled her until she is calm and ready to start her day. I&#39;m a &#34;worrier&#34; of a Mom and to know that she&#39;s in such great hands gives me tremendous peace. I could continue to go on and on about how amazing WMS is and that you should definitely send your children here, but my words can never convey how truly amazing this school and community is to us. Please take a visit, go to a open house, and I assure you&#39;ll see just how remarkable this school is too!
