My oldest child (son in 2nd grade now) had Helen as a teacher in another school and she was AMAZING. &#39;Til this day, he remembers her fondly, and refers to the way she taught him how to read and visualize math concepts. In addition, she had identified some issues he was having with sequencing (following steps instead of going straight to the answer) and suggested he start baking cake at school to help address it. He bakes that same cake, using the same recipe until now.  It was the best foundation she could have given him to start his love of learning and reading. He&#39;s excelling in all areas for school now, and I credit Helen and the Montessori way for this. I&#39;m so glad she&#39;s continued to teach. She has a special gift with children and we&#39;re lucky to have had her share this talent with us.

Encarna Buendia, one of the lead instructor at the Sundrops Montessori School in San Jose, is an amazingly creative, and an engaging instructor. My children, Luc and Siren, loved all of her projects from having the children create concrete tiles with large leaf imprints that taught them about the general principals of what makes a cube to cooking the vegetables from the garden the children grew to make a delicious, healthy, meal. Encarna has the magical ability to make very complicated concepts simplified to be engaging to a young child. She has the capacity to instill in children, in the most delicate way, life long learning to be enjoyable and very well satisfying. My children are confident learners because of Encarna; they trust the way they learn. They love to engage in all that they do daily. They reframe their way of learning to suit them on a daily basis. Great instructors can guide and open the possibilities in a child&#39;s mind without much effort and Encarna is one of those instructors. I highly recommend Sundrops Montessori School for parents who are interested in growing life long learners that think outside of the box.
