I was brought in as Director in April of this year (2022). Prior to accepting the position, I had almost decided to leave the childcare industry. My past experiences in management and teaching in other childcare programs, had left a sour taste in my mouth. I had concluded that each center was the same. Corporately or privately owned, there was no difference. The focus had been on enrollment numbers (income) alone, regardless of state ratios, high staff turnover, quality of care, or the best educational or safety interest of each child. Staff had been repeatedly put into situations in which they were inadequately trained or forced to stay in classrooms where they were subject to physical abuse by violent behavior issues. Each of my previous employers only ran what I refer to as 'glorified daycare programs'. I had decided that if I were going to stay in the field, I would require certain expectations. If those expectations would not be accepted by prospective employers, then I would pass on any offers. I would no longer sacrifice what I knew childcare could be.

My non-negotiable expectations were: transparent communication between owners, management, and teachers; support of staff to strictly follow state-mandated guidelines with the emphasis on ratios and safety; consistency in staff scheduling and child scheduling to maintain routines for children, a balance of focus on enrollment in relation to staff retention; the ability to disenroll families whose child or children continuously jeopardize the welfare of other children or staff, support of owners to allow my complete responsibility and sense of ownership when it comes to 'my staff, my school, my students'. If I would be held accountable for any deficiencies, I would have input into the daily functioning of the center.

The current owners and I clicked immediately. Our visions for fulfilling the potential of not only educational childcare, but also the implementation of a true Montessori environment have been immeasurably aligned.

Being at PPMA has been such an amazing experience. Chef, maintenance, assistant teachers, teachers, and management, we are a family. We are respectful, complimentary, generous, and loving towards one another. We laugh with, cry with, and pray for one another. We have five teachers who have been at PPMA for 10+ years, two who have been here for 5+ years, and a couple of others who have been here 2-3 years. It is rare to find these dynamics in any childcare setting.

We pride ourselves in providing a true Montessori based preschool setting which puts the best interest of each child into consideration before making decisions for the entire program.

We strive to set teachers and children up for success in lowering classroom ratios to allow more one-on-one interaction.

We hire staff who exhibit a genuine love and respect for not only teaching, but also their fellow colleagues.

We consider the individual needs and best interest of each child before finalizing documentation of operational policies and procedures.

Productive and Fun working environment:
I have several good things to say that I don't know where to start! I am working as Primary teacher for 11 years in Preston Park Montessori and we believe in empowering children to be independent. The Montessori education is a best way to develop a love for learning, so that they'll thrive in elementary school and beyond.
I am confident that our executive director (Ms.Natasha) has set a solid foundation for learning path and that they have developed a true love for learning, and I am so happy to see the positive changes she has exhibited from her short time of enrollment. She is completely committed to providing a warm and nurturing environment for children, she has assembled a wonderful staff who shares her passion: she makes herself very accessible and very supportive. The atmosphere within the grounds carries the joy of learning, the thrill of discovery, and the fun of fellow guides. The new owners made us feel like a family, they truly care deeply for each teacher's welfare and strive to make each teacher special.
The School Provides the structure that children crave, the tools that help children gain skills. All the guides in PPMA have years of experience, they are so positive and completely apparent how much they care for the children, within their environment and the work they do. Children learn not only from the Guide presents to them, but also from their peers what is so wonderful about the mixed aged groups in Montessori. Where older children teach and care for the younger ones, at the same time younger ones admire and learn from the older children.
Finally, I conclude that I am so blessed to be a part of this vibrant community. Fun ,Loving, safe environment that allowed me to be around children and learned new ways to teach them and grow as a parent and guide and mentor.

I have had 2 children attend Preston Park Montessori for several years. I am so thankful for them. The teachers are kind and caring. The hours are very convenient for busy families 6:30a-6:30p.   They also provided breakfast, lunch, and snacks. My kids enjoyed their time here and made great friends and still talk about and miss their teachers. The school App is SO convenient and helped keep me updated on their daily activities. I loved getting posted pictures of my kids. Each week the kids came back with a packet of school work they completed that week. I definitely recommend this place.

Hello, My name Is Ms.Latifa, I have been working at Preston Park Montessori for 16 years. I have enjoyed working here as a Infant class room teacher. We have recently changed owners and while I had my previous owner for many years, I have really enjoyed working under Ms.Natasha, who is the new owner, and Mr. Kameron who is Ms.Natasha’s husband. They are very loving and sweet, and they show so much care to the teachers and students as well. They are passionate about what they do. I am happy to be working in this environment which is beneficial to me and my students.
