Pine Island Montessori

Overall, I think this school is good...however as of late I have been noticing a relaxed attitude with the schools security. With  all thats happening in the world, I'd like to feel safe with my child being at school and knowing the staff and teachers are paying attention to not only the children, but people who walk in and out so freely.  This is about the kids, not chat time. Please get better asap.

My daughters have been going to this school since they were 3 months old. The teachers truly care and it is a family atmosphere. My kids are now in the  Infant class, Three year old class and Kindergarten and they are thriving. It is great to see your kids wake up excited and ready for school every day.

I love the Montessori teaching for my toddlers but the people here are what makes it so great. My 2nd child was there from 3½ until Kindergarten- her VPK graduation showed handful of kids who had been here from infants to 4YO and the teachers were so emotional. They even checked in on how she was doing in Kindergarten. Now my youngest just started. Both will attend summer camp as well. The staff is so understanding, patient and caring- from the Administration to Teachers.

In the few short weeks we had our son there, I can gladly say we had a great experience at Pine Island Montessori. We came from a school that was supposed to be "elite" and our child was always sick and suffered from diaper rashes constantly. The staff at Pine Island Montessori is on top of it! My child was changed every hour, never encountered a diaper rash or sickness. The facility was warm, welcoming, and very clean. My child was loved by their staff and teachers. The school communicated through an app in which the teachers would communicate and post pictures of your child during an activity, and many photos throughout the day, as well as diaper changes, food, and nap. The staff also communicated any important information through this app. All the kids always seemed happy including my son. I can say we will be putting our next child in this school and we completely trust that our kids are in great hands. I highly recommend this place for childcare!

My kids have attended this school in varying capacities since 2010.  If you are looking for a safe, family friendly, co-op style environment this is it.  This is a place where within the first few weeks both you and your child will be known and recognized by all the staff, not just your child's teacher.  Because it is a small school, kids get individualized attention and opportunities not available to them through public school or traditional daycare.  I love that most of the teachers are moms themselves and that the overreaching, constantly reinforced message to the kids is to be kind to others in all things.  In addition to Montessori lessons my girls have received instruction in art and music, age appropriate cooking and science.  While enrolled my girls have had the opportunity to take ballet, horseback riding lessons, hip-hop, karate and swimming lessons.  They have made lasting friendships and had the chance to grow and learn at their own pace.  I have never been anywhere else I that I felt  more confident that my kids were in great hands.  My youngest has been cared for here since she was three months old.  She is now nearly three and still gets up in the morning excited to go "her school".  You get out of your child's school experience what you put into it and my family could not be happier with PIM.

My daughter has been at Pine Island since she was three months old. She&#39;s now about to graduate their VPK program. We are so sad to see our PIM journey at an end. The teachers feel like family and my daughter loves to go to school. The staff is very supportive and they go out of their way to help you if needed. I love that they have an app and I regularly get updates. My kid has flourished and if there ever was a problem the staff was very open and helpful. <br><br>I was super impressed by the VPK program and I know my daughter is ready for kindergarten. I highly recommend this school for VPK!!!

Need more diversity. I do not recommend for brown or black children. My child has been in a Montessori school since she was 1 year old and knew her letters and numbers since then. My child attended this (new) school during covid (pre-K) and left with lower self esteem, constant complaints about not wanting to go to school due to the kids not wanting to play with her (because of her curly hair), targeted incident reports (I had to refuse many because the teachers stories never matched, or it was no ground for a incident to be reported) and her teachers telling me she doesn&#39;t know her numbers from letters due to her never being in school (assumptions without reading her file) or having a learning disorder (new one and my last straw). They continuously stereotyped my child even with me constantly informing them she&#39;s been in school since 1 year of age and recite everything to her parents perfectly fine. As adults my husband and I felt discriminated against with the constant (what do you do for a living) questions the entire school year. <br><br>Long story short, since my child left this school she has been flourishing. I would never wish this on anyone child. Until they implement more diversity I see this program going no where or doing no good for people of color.
