Montessori Children's House Of Godfrey

We placed all 3 of our children in the care of Godfrey Montessori Children's house. We thoroughly believe this early Montessori education has helped our children to soar academically. Especially in the area of math.  Our oldest child is in Medical school and our second child is attending Cambridge  UK for her Masters and our third child is working on his BA in Cybersecurity.  We are quite sure that their early Montessori education helped them with their self esteems and love of learning attitudes.
We truly believe that when children have choices, they are able to develop the skills and abilities necessary for effective learning autonomy, and positive self-esteem.
We believe in the 5 Montessori principles , especially Autoeducation -
( when children who are actively involved in a prepared environment and who exercise freedom of choice to literally educate themselves)
Montessori teachers prepare classrooms so that children educate themselves.  The child is self motivated to learn, not pushed into learning.
This early freedom motivates children to be life long learners not just task completers.

One of the reasons I moved to Illinois from New Jersey was  to find a Montessori school that went further than kindergarten. What an opportunity to find this AMAZING place!  Not only did they offer the superior teaching method of Montessori (as a former educator myself, I am well aware  of state standard deficiencies) but every staff we encountered cared and nurtured my children as if we were family.  Both my sons are adopted; they have special needs that would not have been picked up in the traditional public school system. At Montessori children's house my older son  begin to trust in school authorities for the first time in his life; the younger was blessed to have only known a loving school base (where his high level of energy and curiosity was fed) until high school age. Under the owners well-developed plan for educating the "whole self", both my sons have become self-sufficient and empathetic young men.  I cannot say enough good things about Montessori children's house, their staff, and the program they embrace for the sake of children.

My son attended preschool this year at Montessori Children's House.  Honestly, I could not have asked for a better experience.  He loves school! He would go all summer long if he could.  😊  I felt so comfortable dropping him off every morning and knew that he was in good hands.  His teachers were amazing.  They focused on his strengths, allowed time and patience for his weaknesses, and treated him like their own.  (His teacher was patient with me as well😂)  Thank you Mr. Newman and Mrs. Melissa!

My son just graduated today from Montessori Children's House, after 11 years with them. For 11 years I haven't worried whether or not he was having a good day- I've never seen a kid come out of those doors anything but happy. For 11 years, I've had zero worries about homework, grades, whether he'd get in trouble because I got him to school late (again), bullying, how his teachers treated him, if his clothes were "cool," if he'd get to play outside, if he had friends, who his friends were, if he was under too much pressure, if he'd be able to keep up with school and all his extra-curriculars, if they'd understand he needed a few days off because his dad was visiting from out of state.
For 11 years, I've sent him to school KNOWING he'd be treated like family.
He has never liked to miss school, including for summer break and snow days, and today is very bittersweet for both of us.
I didn't intend to send him to preschool at all, but at age 3, he begged me to go to school. What started as 3 half days, soon turned into full days, once he realized some of his friends got to stay all day. What started as, "We'll just go through preschool, then move him, " turned into "Are you sure I can't do high school here?"
Montessori Children's House, thank you for EVERYTHING. We will be forever grateful.

Our son attended Montessori Childen's House from preschool through 6th grade. I truly believe his Montessori foundation is what has helped him excel this past year in middle school. The teachers at Montessori are amazing. Sending our son there was definitely a great decision and I would highly recommend them to anyone and everyone.
