Brighton Montessori School

Not just a preschool or daycare. It's obvious that the staff are happy and Ms LeAnn really values her employees. She takes excellent care of her teachers and children at Brighton Montessori. My daughter absolutely loves going to school. She comes home and I hear her sounding out letters while playing, writing them while coloring, speaking Spanish out of the blue, adding up random items at home. My daughter has also gotten better at interrupting while adults talk and using her manners. All of these are taught and reinforced at Brighton Montessori. Im so impressed with my daughter's school and teachers!!! Couldn't be happier!!

Our experience with Brighton Montessori has been wonderful, to say the least. I can't say enough good things about the staff and the environment.

This is our 3rd year at Brighton Montessori, we can't imagine sending our child anywhere else! My son started shortly after he turned 2 and I was returning to work full time. We wanted more than a daycare. We wanted our son to learn and grow on his own terms with the guidance of caring compassionate teachers. We wanted him to see that learning is fun and something for him to be excited about! Which we found in spades at Brighton Montessori.

My son adores all of the teachers he has had. He is excited to go to school to share about his weekend or upcoming things he is looking forward to. This is entirely due to their respectful interactions with my kiddo! The teachers are fantastic. Our son started in the toddler room with Ms. Ann and then progressed to the pre-primary room with Ms. Maria. The staff is some of the most gentle, kind and compassionate people we've met. Both rooms have been wonderful environments for our son to explore and learn. We have noticed such growth over the last few years. He is truly coming into his own.

Brighton Montessori is a wonderful, caring, family-oriented environment with lots of activities for the children and families throughout the year! Please go visit and see for yourself!

I have three children and they have been a part of the infant, toddler, and pre-primary programs. I absolutely LOVE Brighton Montessori and my children do too!! They have all excelled so much and it is very clear that their teachers care so much for them. I always feel very comfortable having them there. We cannot say enough good things about Brighton Montessori! We moved our infant daughter here from another local daycare and we could not be more happy or confident that this was one of the best decisions we could have made! Her teachers are so kind, and it is clear that they are passionate about what they do. We feel like they truly are invested in her development and are just as excited about her growth as we are! We absolutely love Brighton Montessori! My son has loved going to school since his first day. The staff is wonderful, and they do an awesome job of making learning fun for the kids. Each child can move at their own pace, and has a say in what and when they learn. I have noticed growth in my son in only a few short months, and he has become very independent.

Our experience with Brighton Montessori has been incredible. My son started shortly after he turned 2. We wanted more than a daycare. We wanted Montessori practices and principles. And it was immediately apparent that Brighton Montessori offered this. We looked at a few different options before choosing BMS and there was a startling difference. In the other daycare centers, the children were running around yelling, a few crying, one kid was climbing up a bookshelf, etc. When we came and looked at BMS, the kids were playing quietly in groups with their &#34;work.&#34; Within a few weeks of my son attending BMS he was picking up his toys, pushing in his chair and saying &#34;thank you.&#34; All that said, this is not to imply that BMS is strict and quiet! The children are allowed to be children! They run around outside. They sing songs loudly! Everyday my son comes home and proudly show me his artwork. They play play play! The teachers are also fantastic. They are some of the most gentle, kind and compassionate people I&#39;ve met. My son adores them. He gives them hugs when he leaves for the day. He arrives at school and feels comfortable telling them all the things he did that weekend. He respects his teachers but sees them as allies, not a threat. This is entirely due to their respectful interactions with our children. I could go on and on. There are halloween parades. Christmas cookie parties. They help you with potty training (if desired). They have communal lunch and snack time. It&#39;s just a wonderful, caring, family-oriented environment. Please go visit and see for yourself!

We were a proud family of BMS for a couple years.  Over the summer this year, the school was sold.  Usually, this is a transition that is not too rough and not that disruptive to the families.  Unfortunately, the new owner has zero experience in Montessori practices. Is not Montessori Certified and has zero experience in actually running a school. The owner has made several changes that have disrupted the format of the Montessori classrooms.  So much so that now both lead teachers have left just two short months after the start of the school year.  The new owners advertising skills are definitely lacking as well as their communication skills.  Not informing parents what is happening at the school on a personal level, and choosing to instead only update on the schools Facebook page repeatedly.  There have been changes that have been made that make it appear that the school is transitioning from a school setting to a daycare setting.  The owner has reassured the Facebook followers ( Not so much the actual parents of the school) that the new changes to the school mean nothing and that they will still continue to run the school as a Montessori school.  I think it is important that if anyone is looking for a Montessori school that you look into the Montessori format, the 5 day  format and the reasoning behind this.  Also look into the American Montessori Society and the Association Montessori International as well as the Michigan Montessori Society. BMS, prior to the sale this summer was affiliated with both AMS and MMS.  They however, are no longer affiliated and that speaks volumes about how true to Montessori the school is staying.  Do your research... Anyone can use the Montessori name as it is not legally protected.  If you will be spending the money at a Montessori school, especially with how expensive Montessori tuition can be, make sure they are following Montessori principles to a T and the best ones will be affiliated with one of the above organizations.   If you are looking for a regular daycare or preschool... BMS might be nice.  But if you are looking for a true Montessori school... and are considering BMS.. might want to ask for a discount.  Or look elsewhere.
